To A New TuneThis body of work comes from a place of loose memory and imagination. Each piece reflects a feeling or shared experience, something the viewer might connect with through moments and places in New York City’s nightlife. In these paintings, I use expressive, aggressive brushwork to convey movement and emotion, while experimenting with color to create a sense of depth.
Much of my previous work depicts places drawn from memory, portrayed through my personal interpretation of Divisionism. With To A New Tune, I’ve brought the figure back into my paintings. It’s been a release, an opportunity to explore and experiment with human connection again. My goal is to invite the viewer to smile, laugh, and feel as though they’ve experienced these moments before, whether in a distant memory or a familiar, vivid dream.
